Love wins all: Russian man marries Ukrainian girlfriend in Dharamsala according to Hindu rituals
Dharamshala (Himachal Pradesh) : Amidst the war between Russia and Ukraine, a couple has proved that love really does win over all. Giving the message that love transcends all boundaries, a Russian man named Sergei Novikov recently married his Ukrainian girlfriend Alyona Bramoka in Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh. Novikov, settled in Israel, on Tuesday married his girlfriend Alyona Bramoka from Ukraine, according to the tradition of Sanatan Dharma, at Divya Ashram Kharota near Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh. The event was attended by many locals and even sang and danced Himachali folk songs to make the couple feel at home.
Dressed in traditional Indian costumes, the couple also showed keen interest in bhajans.

Notably, according to Pandit Sandeep Sharma of Divya Ashram Kharota, Sergei Novikov and Alyona Bramoka were in a relationship for two years, and were living in Dharamkot near Dharamsala for the past one year. “Our Pandit Raman Sharma married her and told her about the importance of marriage as per the traditions of Sanatan Dharma,” he told TOI.
Foreign tourists residing in Dharamkot also attended the ceremony and enjoyed the rituals.
