Sharadiya Navratri: Mother’s pandal started decorating, Mahishasurmardini’s statue will become attraction

Maharajganj, 23 September (H.C.). Preparations are on for Sharadiya Navratri. The construction of Maa Durga pandal is going on vigorously in the rural areas and towns of the district including the district headquarters. People are already excited about this. From now on, the work of taking time from the Acharyas for celebrating Navratri and worshiping the nine forms of Maa Durga is also started.

Different committees of different localities of the city get the idols constructed in their own way or buy them and install them in the pandals, but the pandal established near the Maa Durga temple located in the district headquarters remains the center of attraction.

According to Pandit Awadhesh Pandey, the chief priest of Maa Durga temple located at the district headquarters, the work of building the statue of the mother is being done at the Maharajganj district headquarters since 40 years ago. A large number of devotees come here to offer prayers during Shardiya Navratri. There is a fair-like atmosphere here for nine days. Now it has become a tradition.

Pandit Awadhesh Pandey says that from Saptami to Havan, a fair is also held. During this, there is a huge crowd ranging from children to old people. Throughout Navratri there is an influx of female devotees.

Mahishasurmardini statue will remain an attraction

The 40-year-old pandal to be built in the temple premises will have the attraction of the statue of Mahishasurmardini this year. This statue is being given a grand look.

Use of five hundred bamboos, one and a half quintals of nails and one quintal of rope

The magnificence of making the statue and pandal of Mahishasurmardini can be gauged from the fact that a lot of bamboo, nails and ropes can be used for this. About 500 bamboos, one and a half quintals of nails and one quintal of rope have been imported to decorate it.

tight security arrangements

According to Mr. Pandey, there will be strong security arrangements in the fair to be held for three to four days. Apart from the police force, hundreds of volunteers are deployed. This year the system is getting tighter. Children and old people will also get full protection by imposing them with women. There will be separate arrangements for the entry and exit of devotees. In view of safety, special precautions are also being taken regarding the possibility of electrical short circuit.

50 feet high and 30 feet long pandal

Here the pandal of Maa Durga is being made 50 feet high and 30 feet long. It is being prepared by regional artisans. Not only this, arrangements are being made to burn incense sticks and camphor at a distance of 10 feet in front of the statue of Maa Mahishasurmardini. A big pan will be kept for this. For security, sand will also be kept in the sack here.
