Rain wreaks havoc in Etawah, ten including seven innocent died due to wall collapse

Etawah, 22 September (H.S.). Rain wreaked havoc in many districts of Uttar Pradesh. Due to intermittent rain since late night, 10 people, including seven innocent children, have died due to wall collapse at different places in Etawah district. Eight people are seriously injured, who are being treated at a nearby hospital.

District Magistrate Avnish Kumar Rai has ordered to keep all the government and non-government schools of the district closed for three days in view of the rains. The District Magistrate said that the first incident is of Chandrapura village of Police Station Civil Line area, where four brothers and sisters who were sleeping under the tin shed died due to being buried under the wall. The children who died are Sinku (10), Abhi (08), Sonu (07) and Aarti (05). The parents of these children had died two years ago. These children were living with their old grandmother.

The second incident is of Pathwaria Muhal of police station Kotwali area. Here the kutcha house collapsed. Aaliya (07), Ahil eight months and 13-month-old Suhana died after being buried in the rubble. Thirty-year-old Chanda and 69-year-old Qadri Begum have been seriously injured, who are being treated at the district hospital.

Similarly, the third incident is of Kripalpur village of Ikdil police station area, where elderly couple Ramsanehi (65), Reshma (63) have died after being buried under the debris due to the collapse of the wall. Apart from this, laborer Jabar Singh has died after being buried under the wall in Andaba village under Chakarnagar police station.

The police has started further action by sending the bodies of all the deceased for post-mortem. Six people were seriously injured in the accident, who are being treated at the district hospital.

District Magistrate Avnish Kumar Rai said that due to the torrential rains last night, 10 people, including seven innocent children, have died in incidents in different police station areas, while eight people are injured. All the injured are being provided better treatment. He has directed all the schools in the district to remain closed for three days.
