Monsoon weakened due to sea activities, rain will start after five days
Kanpur, 23 June (H.S.). Due to the moist winds blowing from the Bay of Bengal, the monsoon was slowly moving towards Uttar Pradesh. Meteorologists had also predicted that rain would intensify in Uttar Pradesh including Kanpur division around June 22, but the monsoon weakened due to sea activities. Due to this, there will be heavy monsoon rains only after June 27.
Dr SN Sunil Pandey, Meteorologist of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agricultural Technology said on Thursday that Western Disturbance is persisting over Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining areas. The Induced Cyclonic Circulation lies over Northwest Rajasthan. Another Cyclonic Circulation is persisting over Jharkhand and adjoining parts of Odisha. A trough is extending from South Gujarat Coast to Kerala Coast. The northern parts of the country have been receiving good rains for the past few days.
Pre-monsoon rains are occurring in the mountains and plains. Even today, some Pre-Monsoon showers have been observed over the northern parts during the day. However, now the rain activity is set to reduce over the northern plains and tomorrow the pre monsoon activity will be confined to the hills of North India. There will be no significant rainfall in plains including Kanpur division and activity can be seen only at one or two places.
Told that till June 27, there will be no rain in the northern plains and hills. After this, the rains will intensify around June 28 and there may be some rain in North India next week. These rains can act as a harbinger for the onset of the South-West Monsoon and the end of the month may bring Monsoon rains.
