Kanpur Violence: Mukhtar Baba, who was funding the main accused Hashmi, arrested
Kanpur, June 22 (H.C.). The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Kanpur violence case has found important evidence about those who provided funds to the main accused. Biryani businessman Mukhtar Baba, who helped in instigating the violence, has been arrested by the police.
On June 03, hundreds of miscreants pelted stones on Parade, Nai Road under Bekganj police station area of Kanpur Commissionerate. The police started quick action and started cracking down on those who committed nuisance and violence. SIT was formed to investigate the matter. In the investigation of the SIT, important evidence was found about those who funded the main accused Hayat Zafar Hashmi. Investigation found that Mukhtar Baba had funded the violence. Hashmi, the main accused, used to raise funds from Mukhtar Baba. At the same time, many criminal cases are registered against Mukhtar Baba in the police records. At the same time, there are many more suspects on the radar of the SIT and some people may be arrested soon.
Joint Commissioner of Police Anand Prakash Tiwari said on Wednesday that the investigation of those who funded the main accused in the violence, Hayat Zafar Hashmi, is going on. Mukhtar Baba, the owner of Baba Biryani associated with this, has been arrested. Legal action is being taken by interrogating him.
