JDA’s bulldozer ran, land worth 110 crores got freed

Jhansi, May 13 (H.S.). On the initiative of Jhansi Commissioner Dr. Ajay Shankar Pandey in Sipri Bazar area, JDA got the possession of 25 acres of government land worth about 110 crores free on Kanpur-Gwalior bypass. Under the leadership of JDA vice-president Sarvesh Dixit, a heavy police force reached Kanpur Gwalior bypass near Betwa Vihar Colony and the process of eviction was started. This was opposed by the occupiers at first, but seeing the police force, everyone calmed down. The JDA vice-president also advised him to speak in the court itself.

Let us tell you that the matter of this land was pending in the court since 2005. The Jhansi Development Authority had acquired this land in the year 2004 from the Kushwaha family and also gave compensation. But the Kushwaha family was not satisfied with this compensation nor did they want to give their land to JDA. In this regard, the Kushwaha family had filed an appeal in the court. There was constant litigation, in the meantime JDA tried to vacate the land several times, but the land could not be freed from possession. Then Jhansi Commissioner Dr Ajay Shankar Pandey and JDA Vice President Sarvesh Dixit took the initiative and gave complete information to the administrative team and the land was freed from encroachment on Thursday.

It is worth mentioning that JDA had proposed to develop a residential colony here. But, the people of Kushwaha family kept possession of it. Despite several attempts, JDA was not able to get it cleared. On Thursday, JDA officers with heavy police force and PAC freed the land from possession. Taking action, the JDA squad leveled the land and occupied it. JDA has put its board outside. Sources say that the Kushwaha side will go to court against this action.
