Crowd of Shiva devotees thronged the temples to worship Nag Devta

Kanpur, August 02 (H.S.). Nag Panchami festival has special significance in the month of Shravan. The process of feeding and worshiping the snake deity continues since Tuesday morning. There is a queue of devotees in the main Shiva temples of Kanpur city.

In major Shiva temples including Baba Anandeshwar Temple, Vankhandeshwar Temple, Jajmau’s Siddhanath Temple and Nawabganj’s Jageshwar Temple, Kalyanpur’s Bhootnath Temple, Jaleshwar Mahadev Temple, the supreme devotees of Baba Bhole Nath are seeking blessings of happiness and prosperity by worshiping Nag Devta.

The doors of the temple were opened for the devotees only after the Mangala Aarti at the Baba Anandeshwar Temple located on the Civil Lines of the city. On the special occasion of Nag Panchami in the womb, Mahadev’s makeup was done specially. Devotees have alternately offered Bel leaves and flowers after performing Jalabhishek of Bhole Nath.

On the special festival of Nag Panchami, the queue of devotees in the temple reached the Green Park intersection through the main gate. On Tuesday morning, Mahant Arun Bharti of Juna Akhara performed the makeup of Mahadev. There is a crowd of devotees in the Vankhandeshwar temple located on P Road since morning. Devotees who reached Siddhanath Ghat in Jajmau performed Jalabhishek of Baba Bhole Nath after taking bath in the Ganges.

Due to Nag Panchami falling on Tuesday, a large number of devotees are reaching Shri Panchmukhi Hanuman Mandir, Panki and South Sir Bal Hanuman GT Road and are worshiping Shiva Shambhu and Sankat Mochan duly. Devotees are celebrating the festival of Nag Panchami with enthusiasm by offering milk to the snake deity outside Shiva temples.
