34 couples married each other on Arazi line block, duly performed Havan Pujan
Varanasi, 25 November (Hindustan Times). It was a pleasant sight on Friday at Arazi Line Block Headquarters. People were stopping to see the bride and groom taking seven rounds in the marriage ceremony at the headquarters. During this, 34 couples became each other by taking seven rounds in the midst of chanting Vedic Brahmins’ mantras. Before this, the bride and groom garland each other in the mandap. After this, they were married by donating vermilion. The dream of marriage of the daughter of the poor became possible due to the Chief Minister’s mass marriage scheme. Rohaniya MLA Dr. Sunil Patel, Block Chief Nagina Patel, his representative Dr. Mahendra Singh Patel and Block Development Officer Vijay Kumar Jaiswal were present in the mass marriage program organized under the supervision of ADO Social Welfare Pramod Kumar. Everyone jointly gave saree, chunri, anklets, nettle to all the newly married brides. There, the groom was blessed by giving pant shirt cloth, mobile, utensils as a gift.
BDO Vijay Kumar Jaiswal said that an amount of Rs 35,000 will be sent to the accounts of all the newly married women as ‘Kanyadaan’ by the Social Welfare Department. Apna Dal District President Narendra Patel, ADO SK Pramod Kumar, Prakash Chandra Chaurasia, former head Muhammad Anwar, Sanjeev Singh, Shiv Kumar Pradhan, Rajkumar Gupta etc. were also present on this occasion.
