05-storey building collapses in Lucknow: Rescue operation continues by becoming the angel of NDRF
On Tuesday, January 24, a five-storey apartment building collapsed late in the evening in Hazratganj area of Lucknow. As soon as the NDRF was informed about the incident, an NDRF team led by Commandant Manoj Kumar Sharma was immediately rushed to the spot from Regional Response Center Lucknow under Deputy Commandant Anil Kumar Pal. On reaching the spot, the team started the search relief and rescue operation. In view of the seriousness of the incident, additional teams of NDRF were sent from Gorakhpur and Varanasi to Lucknow. All the teams of NDRF reached the spot with necessary state-of-the-art equipment and started the operation.
NDRF personnel, after continuous tireless efforts, safely evacuated three people, including two women and a man, till late night. All were sent to the nearest hospital for advance treatment. NDRF rescuers could hear the voices of the people buried under the debris at the accident site, but to reach them, the rescuers continued the rescue work with great care and efficiency and talked to them and assured them of their safe evacuation. In the rescue operation which continued till morning, two more women were safely pulled out by accessing through cutting tools and sent to the hospital for treatment. A total of five people have been rescued alive by NDRF teams during this rescue operation. Till the time of receiving information, the total number of people who came out alive from the incident site has increased to 14. NDRF’s search rescue operation is going on continuously.
NDRF Commandant Mr. Manoj Kumar Sharma, who was present at the spot, said that NDRF is continuously continuing the search, relief and rescue work in collaboration with the local administration and other agencies. There is still a possibility that more people may be trapped under the debris, our efforts are to save everyone’s life. The rescue operation of NDRF is going on continuously.
