‘Dhan Gur, the ninth king, you have no one, the community has sacrificed your money’
Lucknow, 24 November (Hindustan Times). The holy martyrdom day of the great martyr Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib is being celebrated with great devotion and hospitality in Lucknow. Poetry recitation started on Thursday at the city’s historic Gurudwara Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Yahiyaganj. On the first day, the Durbar Hall was decorated with white flowers symbolizing peace. Devotees offered their reverence to Guru Maharaj. On this occasion, poetry recitation focused on Guruji’s life was also held.
The Diwan started with the recitation of Rahiras Sahib by Giani Paramjit Singh, the chief granthi of Gurdwara Sahib. Huzuri Ragi Jatha Bhai Randhir Singh ji mesmerized the Shabad-Kirtan Sangat. After this, Giani Jagjit Singh Jachak welcomed the poets and started reciting the poem by extolling the glory of Guru Teg Bahadur ji. Eminent poets from Punjab informed the Sangat about the history of Guru Teg Bahadur ji through their poems.
Poet Rachpal Singh Pal, who has the title of Punjab Da Rafi, recited his poem ‘Dhan Gur Nauveen Patshah Tera Koi Nahi Sani, Kaum Nu Jiyunda Kar Gayi Teri Dhan Qurbani’. Dr. Hari Singh Jachak read the poem ‘Hilli Dharti Te Loka De’ Dil hile, mano ki liya si koi buchal saka. Jachka yaad rehna rahindi duniya tak, Chandni chowk da bay misal saka.
Apart from this, Engineer Karamjit Singh ‘Noor’, Gursharan Singh Parvana recited poetry. Sukragujar Singh Deewana narrated the martyrdom life history of Guru Teg Bahadur ji. In the end, President Dr. Gurmeet Singh felicitated all the poets. Sardar Sampoorn Singh Bagga, President Mansarovar Gurdwara, Sardar Manmohan Singh Mohani, Kapil Singh, Inderpal Singh, Narula Dr. Amarjot Singh, Jasveer Singh ‘Raju’ Satnam Singh Dhanjal Paramjit Singh Pammi, and Gulshan Johar were present while presiding over the Kavi Sammelan.
