Two more Indian boxers advanced to the pre-quarterfinals of the ongoing World Women’s Boxing Championships at home. India’s Jasmine Lamboria and Shashi Chopra made a winning start and entered the last 16. Although Shruti Yadav had to face defeat in the first match.

Commonwealth medalist Jasmine Lamboria won the 60kg category in a one-sided contest against Tanzania’s Nyambega Ambrose. The referee stopped the one sided fight and declared Jasmine the winner. Jasmine won the match in just 90 seconds. _ Zareen was earlier engaged and Preeti got India’s RSC victory in this way, now Jasmine will face Tajikistan’s Samadova Mijgon.

While Shashi Chopra advanced by defeating Mwagi Teresia of Kenya 5-0 in the 63kg category. She will now face Asian champion Keito Mai of Japan in the pre-quarterfinals.
