Women Police Officer Won Medal: Women Police of Thane achieved success in international competition

Thane: Thane Police Naik Sheetal Kharatmal has won bronze and silver medals at the International Belt and Mask Wrestling Championships held in Baku Azerbaijan, Europe from 28 July to 3 August 2022. Competitors from 42 different countries participated in the International Belt and Mask Wrestling Championships.

Thane Police Officer Sheetal Kharatmal has hoisted the Thane flag across the world by winning a bronze medal in international belt wrestling and a silver medal in mask wrestling. In addition, the Indian team won the Silver Medal in the Culture category in the International Festival Competition organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, World Ethnosport Confederation, Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The ‘Highland Festival’ was organized here.

 

13 players from Maharashtra were given a practice selection test for the tournament in Europe’s Baku Azerbaijan. Thane Police’s Naik Sheetal Kharatmal was selected in the 55 kg women’s weight category.

Sheetal Kharatmal is Thane Rural Police Officer and is in service from last 12 years. Regarding this success, Sheetal says, ‘CA, who is my mentor at the national level, in this very tough competition. Tamboli Sir, Mentor and Coach Madhukar Pagade, Amol Sathe provided valuable guidance. Also my family has played a big role in this and I am indebted to mother Nirmala and father Mallikarjuna.
