How is the Lawn Ball Game Played?
Lawn ball is an outdoor sport in which a ball is thrown across the field. i.e. the ball is rolled and pushed forward by the player. These balls are made of rubber, wood or any other material and weigh up to 1.59 kg. The balls are flattened on one side so that they follow a curved path when rolled. The key word of this game is Jack. The aim of the players is to get the ball closer to this jack.
The player whose jack is closest gets the point. That’s why Jack is also known as Target. The length of the jack is about 23 meters. The game is usually played on a flat lawn, about 37–38 m in size. Singles, doubles, teams of three and four players can participate in lawn ball games. Meanwhile, there are separate teams for both men and women.
As the name suggests, this game is played on the lawn. It has two formats singles and team games. Team games also have 2, 3 or even 4 players. The team winning the toss has to first roll the jack ball, where the ball stops, then the toss ball is rolled there. In a four-player event, each player has a chance to roll the ball twice.
