Uber Cup: South Korea beat India 5-0 in the final group match
Bangkok, May 11 (H.S.). After registering two consecutive victories, the Indian badminton team suffered a 5-0 defeat against South Korea in their final group match of the ongoing Uber Cup 2022 here on Wednesday.
In a Group D match, world No. 7 Indian legend PV Sindhu was defeated by An Se-Young 21-15, 21-14 in a match that lasted 42 minutes.
In the second match, women’s doubles pair of Shruti Mishra and Simran Singhi were defeated 13-21, 12-21 by Lee So-hee and Shin Seung-chan in a match that lasted 39 minutes.
In the third match, Kim Ga-eun defeated Akarshi Kashyap 21-10, 21-10 in a match that lasted 30 minutes.
After this, in the fourth match, the Indian pair of Tanisha Crasto and Treesa Jolly lost 21-14, 21-11 to Kim Hye-jong and Kong Hee-yong in a match that lasted 36 minutes.
In the final match, Ashmita Chaliha was defeated by Sim Yu-jin 21-18, 21-17. The match lasted for 39 minutes.
Earlier, Team India had secured its place in the quarter-finals of the ongoing Uber Cup 2022 with victories against Canada and America.
