Mumbai, May 14 (H.S.). On Virat Kohli’s dismal form in IPL 2022, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis said, ‘Bad times’ happen to everyone.

Punjab Kings returned to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 with a win over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 54 runs at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Friday.

After the loss, the RCB captain said, “It was a good score, obviously the way Johnny started, put our bowlers under really pressure. I thought we pulled it back a bit. 200 was par on that wicket. It was a wonderful wicket. When you are chasing scores like this, you can’t afford to lose wickets in bunches and unfortunately, that’s what happened to us.”

Out-of-form Kohli looked to be in good form against PBKS but again failed to convert a decent start into a big total. Regarding Kohli’s form, Faf said, “He (Kohli) is looking at the lighter side of it, every single way you can possibly get out is happening to him. You can just keep trying. Work hard and stay positive. He played some good shots tonight, obviously he wants him to go ahead. Bad times happen to all of us, he has taken it on the right note.”

With this defeat, RCB have 14 points from 13 matches. He has only one match left against Gujarat Titans, the top team of the tournament, on 19 May.

Faf said, “The match against Punjab is not very good for us. Will take a day off and then see how we can switch for a match that is important to us. Another net session is not going to make you a better player. If we play to our potential, we are a very strong side. Unfortunately, we didn’t do that against Punjab.”

Punjab currently has 12 points from 12 matches.
