The Indian team will play a four-day warm-up match against England Cricket Club Leicestershire on Thursday ahead of the fifth scheduled Test against England on July 1. After the fourth Test of the five-match Test series last year, the fifth Test was rescheduled due to the Kovid-19 case in the Indian camp. The practice match will help India adapt to the situation as they arrive in England for the fifth Test after a long absence. After a 157-run victory in the fourth Test at the Oval last year, India are currently 2-1 ahead of the hosts in the Test series.
