Midfielder Fabio Vieira joins Arsenal FC on long-term contract

London, 22 June (H.S.). FC Porto midfielder Fabio Vieira has joined Arsenal FC on a long-term contract. The 22-year-old Vieira has played 54 matches for Porto and has grown through the club’s youth academy. He made his first team debut in June 2020 and was part of the Primera Liga winning squad in the 2019/20 and 2021/22 seasons.

Fabio is a Portuguese under-21 international who has scored 13 impressive goals in his 21 appearances. He also represented his country at the youth level. He has played all five tournament matches in the 2019 UEFA Under-19 Championship, where Portugal finished as runners-up.

During last season’s Primeira Liga winning season, Fabio played a total of 27 matches for his club and scored six goals and scored 14 assists during the tournament.

“We are very pleased to have completed the signing of Fabio from FC Porto,” Technical Director Edu said according to Arsenal’s official website. Fabio is a player with special qualities. We will continue to work hard now and look forward to completing this transfer window as strongly as possible.”

Fabio will wear the number 21 shirt and will soon join his new teammates for pre-season training.
