Luke Wright appointed Auckland cricket team’s performance and talent coach
Auckland, 23 June (H.S.). Auckland Cricket (ACES) on Thursday appointed England player Luke Wright as the team’s performance and talent coach.
“England’s highest run-scorer in domestic T20Is and member of the ICC T20 World Cup winning team, Luke Wright, has returned to Auckland as the new performance and talent coach,” an official statement from Auckland Cricket said.
Wright previously performed for ACES during the 2013/14 Super Smash season. Apart from this, he has also been the assistant coach of Melbourne Stars (BBL), Rajshahi Kings (BPL), Guernsey T20 team. Apart from this, he has also coached the deaf team of England and Southern Vipers.
Daniel Archer, Director of Performance and Talent, is pleased to announce the appointment of Luke Wright.
He said, “We are excited to have Luke Wright join our redesigned coaching team in this key full-time appointment. Luke has a wealth of cricketing knowledge and coaching experience.”
Wright will join New Zealand’s coaching staff for tours to Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands. His work with Auckland Cricket will begin in early September.
