Lottery of two players made ODI debut for Team India under Dhawan’s captaincy

In the first ODI against New Zealand, two Indian players got a chance to make their ODI debut. Arshdeep Singh was given the debut cap by coach VVS Laxman along with captain Shikhar Dhawan and Umran Malik. Both Arshdeep and Umran have represented India in T20s.

ODI series after T20

The first match of the three-match ODI series between India and New Zealand is being played at Eden Park. The 23-year-old Arshdeep Singh and Umran Malik have previously featured in T20 Internationals for India, but both are yet to make their ODI debuts. Arshdeep Singh has been doing well in T20 cricket for India. Arshdeep Singh had performed brilliant bowling in the Asia Cup-T20 World Cup. Arshdeep Singh recently wreaked havoc in the T20 series against New Zealand as well.

 

Arshdeep in blazing form in T20

Arshdeep Singh has so far played 21 T20 Internationals for India, taking 33 wickets at an average of 18.12. Meanwhile, his best performance is four for 37, which he registered against New Zealand recently. As far as Umran Malik is concerned, he got a chance to play a total of three T20 matches taking two wickets. Umran played two of these matches against Ireland and one against England.
