Dublin, 24 January (Hindustan). The Ireland men’s cricket team will tour Bangladesh for a multi-format series and play their first Test match in three years.

According to Ireland Cricket, the month-long tour will start with a warm-up match on March 15, followed by three One Day Internationals, three T20 Internationals and a one-off Test match. This will be the first Test match played between the two sides, as well as the first multi-format series between the two teams. The team will leave for Bangladesh from Dublin on March 11.

Ireland made his Test debut in May 2018 against Pakistan. Pakistan won this match by five wickets. After this, Ireland also played a four-day Test against England in July 2019, which England won by 143 runs.

Richard Holdsworth, Cricket Ireland’s Director of High-Performance, said: “2023 is set to be an incredibly busy year for Irish cricket – and we are delighted to confirm this tour of Bangladesh. Whereas this is the first tour of its kind that we will be doing at the senior level.

“We will be playing a lot of cricket in Asia as part of our future touring schedule, so these matches are valuable experience for the development of our players – as well as an opportunity to get to know the team as we prepare for our tour in May,” he added.
