Indian men’s team gains two places and women’s team three places in FIFA rankings

New Delhi, June 24 (H.S.). The Indian men’s football team has moved up two places from 106th to 104th in the latest FIFA world rankings.

The Indian women’s senior national football team also gained three places to move from 59th to 56th.

The Indian men’s football team finished unbeaten in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, registering victories against Afghanistan, Cambodia and Hong Kong to finish on top of Group D.

The Indian team is now just below New Zealand (103rd) in the rankings, who recently lost their World Cup qualification spot to Costa Rica.

However, India retains its 19th position in the AFC rankings. Iran ranks first in the ranking.

On the other hand, the Indian women’s team had defeated Egypt and Jordan 1-0 in an international friendly earlier this year.
