India’s dominance in weightlifting continues, won the most 10 medals
India had a slow start in the Commonwealth Games. The Games are almost over and Indian athletes are winning medals in various events. In weightlifting, India had a strong performance from day one and won three medals. At the end of the event, India became the country with the most gold medals in weightlifting. India won three gold, three silver and four bronze medals in weightlifting. India started with Sanket Sargar and ended the event with a medal from Gurdeep Singh.
Won 10 medals in weightlifting
India has been number-1 in this event out of 78 countries and no other country has won so many medals. India won nine medals with five golds in the 2018 Games but this time they have given a record breaking performance. However, India has also lost two gold medals. In terms of the highest medal tally in weightlifting, hosts England are second with five medals, including three golds, while Canada is third with eight medals with two golds. Pakistan’s only success came in the form of a gold medal.
