I can’t afford to lose my line and length: Rashid Khan

Pune, May 11 (H.S.). Gujarat Titans spinner Rashid Khan, who played a key role in his team’s victory with a four-wicket haul against Lucknow Super Giants, said he cannot afford to lose his line and length.

Gujarat Titans has become the first team to qualify for the play-offs this season. Gujarat beat Lucknow Super Giants by 62 runs at MCA Stadium in Pune. Batting first, Gujarat scored 144 for 4 in 20 overs and then bowled out Lucknow for 82 runs in just 13.5 overs.

After the match, Rashid said, “There were some matches, which did not go well for me, it was all about my line and length. In those few matches, I deviated from my line and length. The pace at which I bowl and I have the action, I can’t afford to lose my line and length. I am focused on hitting the right area. The wicket was helping with bounce and turn today, but overall it was all about bowling in the right areas. The fast bowlers gave us a platform where we came and put pressure on the opposition batsmen.

Rashid further said that the entire focus of the team will now be on playing good cricket and enjoying themselves at this time.

“You need a good powerplay to chase 140-145 and the fast bowlers gave us that. This is a very important part of the competition, it is about the process whether we win or lose, we should keep the same process. We have to do better day by day and keep doing good things. Now the focus should be on playing good cricket and enjoying myself.”

Talking about this match, Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to bat first. Gujarat scored 144 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs thanks to 63 runs from Shubman Gill.
