Elena Rybakina reached the semi-finals of Australian Open 2023

Melbourne, 24 January (HS). Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina has entered the semi-finals of the Australian Open 2023. Rybakina defeated Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia in the quarterfinal match played at Rod Laver Arena on Tuesday.

Rybakina is the first player to make it to the Australian Open 2023 Women’s Semifinals.

22nd seed Rybakina defeated Jelena Ostapenko 6-2 6-4 in a match that lasted one hour and 19 minutes. With this, Rybakina became the first female player from Kazakhstan to reach the last four.

Rybakina told the media after her win, “I think definitely all the experience I got at Wimbledon, and it’s helping me now in Australia and I know what to expect. It feels good on the court and I am enjoying every match I am playing here.”
