Commonwealth Games Table Tennis: Sreeja-Sharath and Manika and Sathiyan reached the quarterfinals of mixed doubles
Birmingham, 5 August (H.C.). India got off to a great start on the eighth day of the Commonwealth Games 2022. In the mixed doubles match of table tennis, the pair of Sreeja Akula and Sharath Kamal have reached the quarter-finals.
The pair of Sreeja and Sharath defeated Malaysian pair of Leong Chi and Ho Ying 5-11, 11-2, 11-6, 11-5 in the pre-quarterfinals to enter the quarterfinals.
At the same time, in the mixed doubles played earlier, the Indian pair of Manika Batra and Sathiyan Gananasekaran also entered the quarterfinals.
The pair of Sathiyan and Manika defeated Omoyato and Ojomu of Nigeria 11-7, 11-6, 11-7 in the pre-quarterfinals. With this win, the Indian pair has made it to the quarter-finals.
Let us inform that earlier, on the seventh day of the Commonwealth Games 2022, Indian players had won two medals on the day. Sudhir won the gold medal in Para-Powerlifting.
