Commonwealth Games 2022: Know, India’s schedule on August 3, more chances to win medals

In the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, India will have many chances to win a medal today i.e. on Wednesday, 3 August. History was created on Tuesday, the fifth day of the event, when the Indian women’s team won the gold medal in lone balls. The men’s team also won a gold medal in table tennis and now India will be eyeing medals in boxing and athletics.

World champion Nikhat Zareen and Olympic medalist Lovlina Borgoen will be aiming to win a medal in Birmingham on the sixth day of the Commonwealth Games to be held in Birmingham. Indian women’s cricket team will play against Barbados to reach the semi-finals. Nikhat Zareen will take on Nicola Clyte of Northern Ireland in the women’s light flyweight quarterfinals. In women’s light middleweight, Lovlina Borgohain will face Rosie Ackles. 5 Indian boxers will reach the quarterfinals and win at least a bronze medal to make it to the next round.

It could also be an important day for squash veteran Saurav Ghosal as he takes on Joel Makin for the men’s singles bronze. If he wins, it will be Saurav Ghosal’s first singles medal at the Commonwealth Games. In athletics, Manpreet Kaur will try for a gold medal in the women’s shot put, while Tejaswin Shankar will also try for the men’s high jump. The women’s hockey team can make it to the semi-finals with a win over Canada while the women’s cricket team will also look to make it to the last four against Barbados.
