Rare form of Shiva!

It is said that such a divine form of Devadhidev is not seen anywhere else in the entire creation. Gangeshwar Mahadev is also worshiped by the name of Ganganath. Thus, it is the only place on earth where five Shivlings are visible at the same place and Daryadeva unintentionally anoints them. And that is why the devotees get the special distinction of having darshan here. This place near Bhairav Ghat is believed to be more than five thousand years old. Actually, the entire Shiva family has lived here. Devotees also get darshan of Mata Parvati, Gajanan Ganesh and Kumar Kartikeya here.

main story

The story of the Pandavas, the son of Kunti, is related to the appearance of Gangeshwar Mahadev. A related mention is found in the Vanparva of the Mahabharata. According to which the Pandavas came to the area of Prabhatirtha while wandering during their exile. He used to eat only after regular Shiva worship. One day it so happened that evening came while wandering in the forest. But, he did not see the Shivling anywhere. Eventually, all the five Pandavas built small and big Shivalingas according to their size. And then set it in a cave.

Folklore states that the Pandavas stayed on this rock for a whole month. And they used to worship Maheshwara here regularly. The arrangement of Shivling at the main entrance of the cave was done in such a way that the ocean itself continued to consecrate Shiva. It is said that after the Pandavas, the Siddha sages worshiped this place. Today a large number of devotees are taking advantage of Shiva worship here. Of course, Daryadeva also throws the puja material offered by the devotees into the water. Because Gangeshwar loves nothing more than water!
