sKsha Bandhan 2022: Raksha Bandhan i.e. the holy festival of Rakhi, the sisters wait for this holy festival throughout the year. According to mythology, Rakshabandhan is celebrated on the full moon day of Shravan month. But this year there is confusion among some people regarding this date. Let us know what is the right date to tie Rakhi and what is the auspicious time?

When is Raksha Bandhan? August 11th or 12th?
According to the Hindu calendar, Shravan Purnima will start at 10.38 am on 11 August 2022 and will end the next day i.e. 12 August 2022 at 7.05 am. But the question arises that on which day the festival of Rakshabandhan should be celebrated? Let’s have a good day?

When is Rakshabandhan 2022? date and time
Shravan Purnima is starting from 11th August 2022. The afternoon is considered the best time for Raksha Bandhan. According to mythology, afternoon is considered the most suitable time for tying Rakhi. Along with this, if there is a time of ‘Bhadra’ in the afternoon, then it is not considered auspicious. On 11th August 2022 you can tie Rakshasutra during Bhadrapuchha during Pradosh Kaal between 5:18 PM to 6:18 PM. Or you can tie Rakhi after Bhadrakal between 8:54 pm to 9:49 pm. But traditionally Rakhi is not tied after sunset. For these reasons, instead of tying Rakhi on 11th August, it would be better to celebrate Rakshabandhan on 12th August.

Therefore, it will be auspicious to celebrate the festival of Rakshabandhan on 12th August.
The Pradosh Kaal Muhurta of Raksha Bandhan is from 08:54 to 09:49 on 11th August 2022. This period is also considered suitable for tying Rakhi. On August 12, the full moon date will be from 7 am to 6 am and this full moon date will be at sunrise on this day. There will be no shadow of Bhadra on this day. Therefore, it will be auspicious to celebrate the festival of Rakshabandhan on 12th August.
