Pradosh Vrat 2022: Ekadashi is important for worshiping Lord Vishnu in Hinduism. Similarly, Shukra Pradosha is important for the worship of Lord Shiva. Pradosh fasting in Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month is today i.e. 23 September 2022. It is also known as Shukra Pradosh as this Pradosh Vrat falls on Friday. On this day, worshiping Shiva methodically along with Pradosh fast fulfills the wishes of a person.

 

Pradosh Vrat Date and Muhurta:

In the Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month, the Panchag will start at 1:17 pm on the 23rd according to the Pradosh date. So Pradosh Tithi will end on Saturday 24th September 2022 at 2:30 PM. Pradosh Puja Muhurta is from 6:23 PM to 8:45 PM on 23rd. Meanwhile, from 9:45 am on 22nd September 2022 to 23rd September 2022 at 9:56 am, there is Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga.

On the day of Shukra Pradosh, worship of Goddess Lakshmi along with Lord Shankar has special significance. Abhishek, Rudrabhishek and Shringa should be done for Lord Shankar on this day. Due to the effect of this fast, obstacles coming in marriage are removed. On this day Lord Shankar should be anointed with milk and flowers should be offered. This brings happiness, wealth in children as well as success in career. The worship done in this way is considered very dear to Lord Shankar. After worshiping Lord Shankar, worship Maa Lakshmi. Offer red flowers to Goddess Lakshmi during the puja. Along with this, Shri Sukta should be recited. This pleases Lakshmi and opens the gates of food for the devotees.

On this day, take a bath, wear clean clothes and take water, Akshat and flowers in hand and take a vow of fasting. After that Lord Shankar should be worshiped in the temple or house of Lord Shankar with Bel leaves, incense, Akshada, Gangajal etc. During this, after anointing with Panchamrit, offer Belpatra, dhoti flower, Kanher flower, incense, lamp, fruit, betel etc. to the Shivling. Chant the mantra ‘O Namah Shivaya’ during the worship. After that, after lighting a lamp of pure ghee, Shiv Chalisa should be recited. In the end, the aarti of Lord Shankar should be performed.
