This year Pitru Paksha will start from 10th September and will end on 25th September. On this day ancestors return to their people. That’s why this last day of Pitru Paksha has a lot of importance. Those who have not performed Shradh for their ancestors till now, they should perform Shradh on the day of Sarva Pitru Amas. This is your last chance to donate. Also, avoid making some mistakes on this day, otherwise you may have to suffer a big loss.

Do not do these mistakes on the day of Sarva Pitru Amas

On the day of Sarva Pitru Amas, perform Shradh of only those ancestors whose date of death is unknown or who died on the day of Amas. Otherwise it is advisable to perform Shradh on the day of death itself.

Although hair and nails should not be cut during the entire Pitru Paksha, but do not make the mistake of doing so on the day of Amas. Otherwise there will be dire consequences. Cut your nails and hair only after completing the common ie Shraddha Paksha. Do not consume non-veg-alcohol on the day of Amas. This can make parents very angry.

Do not allow any poor or speechless animal to come empty to your door on the day of Sarva Pitru Amas, give them food. Or give dakshina according to the power. It is best to donate flour, rice or sesame seeds.

Do not insult any poor or helpless person. Do not disturb any innocent animal. Instead, help people. Do not consume garlic, onion, lentils, flaxseed etc. on the day of Sarva Pitru Amas. Eat only sattvik food on this day.
