New Delhi, 24 January (Hindustan Times). Thirteenth National Voters’ Day (NVD) will be observed on 25 January (Wednesday). The theme of this year’s NVD is ‘Vote Jaisa Kuch Nahi, Vote Zaroor Dalenge Hum’. President Draupadi Murmu will be the chief guest at the function organized by the Election Commission in New Delhi.

Union Minister of Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju will grace the function as the chief guest. During the program, the President will present the National Awards for the year 2022.

The first copy of the ECI publication ‘Electing the First President – An Illustrated Chronicle of India’s Presidential Election’ will be presented to the President by Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar. An ECI song- ‘Main Bharat Hoon- Hum Bharat Ke Voter Hain’ produced by ECI in association with Subhash Ghai Foundation will also be screened.

It is noteworthy that National Voters’ Day is celebrated at the national, state, district, constituency and polling station levels. Since 2011, ‘National Voters’ Day’ is celebrated every year on 25 January across the country to mark the establishment day of the Election Commission. The objective of the festival is to create electoral awareness among the citizens and encourage them to participate in the electoral process.
