New Delhi, 25 January (Hindustan Times). The Supreme Court has asked the Ghaziabad court to postpone the hearing on January 27, while hearing the petition filed by journalist Rana Ayyub against the summons of appearance in the Ghaziabad court. The hearing of the matter could not be completed in the bench of Justices Krishna Murari and V Ramasubramaniam, after which this interim order was issued. The next hearing of the case will be on January 31.

In fact, the Ghaziabad court has issued summons in the money laundering case and ordered it to appear on January 27. Rana Ayyub has filed a petition in the Supreme Court against this summons from the Ghaziabad court. Ayyub is alleged to have raised Rs 2.69 crore from the general public in the name of charity by running a campaign through the online crowd-funding platform, ‘Keto’ And used that money personally.

In this case, the ED had started an investigation in 2021 in a money laundering case on the basis of an FIR registered by the Uttar Pradesh Police. According to the ED investigation, the funds raised on the online platform were transferred to the accounts of Rana Ayyub’s father and sister. Ayyub had also made an FD of Rs 50 lakh for himself, while about Rs 29 lakh was used for charity.
