Rajgarh: Farmers jammed the highway demanding fertilizers

Rajgarh, 24 November (HS). With the sowing of rabi crops in Madhya Pradesh, the demand for urea fertilizer has started increasing continuously in the state. On one hand, the state government is claiming to have adequate arrangements for fertilizers, and on the other hand, farmers seem to be getting worried for fertilizers. A similar case has come to the fore in Rajgarh district. Actually, on Thursday, when the farmers did not get fertilizer at the Khimkhedi center, they blocked the highway. Later, SDM Juhi Garg reached the spot and opened the jam and distributed tokens for the future.

These days wheat, gram, mustard, lentils and coriander etc. have been sown by the farmers as rabi crops. Now urea fertilizer is most needed in the production of wheat. As per the requirement, the farmers had reached the Khimkhedi center situated in the middle of Rajgarh-Biaora to get fertilizers. Where the farmers were waiting for their turn since morning by standing in line for the fertiliser. Meanwhile, in the afternoon, within no time, the fertilizer ran out. After this the farmers started creating ruckus. Angry farmers blocked the Jaipur-Jabalpur highway. They stopped the traffic by blocking the vehicles on the road, due to which long queues of vehicles were formed on both the sides. On receiving the information, Rajgarh SDM Juhi Garg immediately reached the spot. Talking to the farmers, he explained to them, opened the jam and got the traffic restored.

SDM distributed fertilizers tokens on the spot. Tokens were also provided to the farmers from the counter operators of the double lock center and the private distribution centers present on the spot. He assured the farmers that whenever the fertilizer arrives, it will be given to you first.

Rajgarh MLA Bapusinh Tanwar alleged that there is shortage of fertilizers and the administration is not backing down from making false claims of sufficient fertilizers. Every day this lie is being circulated that there is enough manure in the district. There is no problem of fertilizers. If there is enough manure then why are you not giving it to the farmers. The government is failing miserably in providing fertilizers to the farmers.

SDM Juhi Garg told that due to the end of fertilizers, the farmers had imposed a jam, but after persuading the farmers, the jam was opened. Tokens have been distributed to the farmers. When manure arrives, they will be made available first.
