Asia Cup: Pakistan selected its team for Asia Cup, this player was thrown out
New Delhi: Pakistan has announced its squad for the Asia Cup starting August 27 in the UAE. However, fast bowler Hasan Ali has been kept out of the Asia Cup squad. Hasan Ali proved to be the biggest villain for Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2021. Because of him, Pakistan lost to Australia in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2021.
‘Uncapped’ Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah has been selected in place of in-form fast bowler Hasan Ali. Pakistani selectors have also retained their top fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi in both the teams. Afridi had recently missed the second Test in Sri Lanka due to injury.
Villain out of T20 World Cup
There was no word on Afridi’s injury but chief selector Mohammad Wasim said Afridi will remain in both teams and will continue to rehab under the supervision of the team’s panel and physio. The ODI series against the Netherlands will be played from August 16 to 21, while the T20 Asia Cup will run from August 27 to September 11.
