Madhya Pradesh is the most film friendly state for film production: Anupam Kher

Bhopal, 24 November (Hindustan Times). Madhya Pradesh has a very friendly environment for film making. I have shot five films in Madhya Pradesh and have found Madhya Pradesh to be the friendliest state in the country. Actor Anupam Kher said this at the ongoing 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.

He said that Madhya Pradesh really deserves to get Film Friendly State Award. All possible necessary help is provided by the state government for film production in the state. He said that five films have been shot in the state. Very few have seen such film friendly states, where there is a lot of help even at the government level. The film policy of the state is quite simple. I hope that Madhya Pradesh gets this honor every year.

Principal Secretary of Madhya Pradesh Tourism and Culture Department and Managing Director of Tourism Board Shiv Shekhar Shukla gave this information on Thursday. He informed that Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board is participating in the film festival organized in Goa. He apprised the people associated with the film industry about the facilities being provided in the state. He told that the permission will be given by the state government to the filmmakers for film production in 15 days. He also invited the stakeholders associated with the film industry for shooting in the state.

Shukla gave detailed information on the possibilities of film shooting in the state, attractive locations and key points of film tourism policy. He informed about grant to producers, permission under Public Service Guarantee Act within 15 days, natural beauty of the state as well as online single window system for shooting permission.

He encouraged private investment, skill development and employment generation through film shooting in the state, financial grants for shooting of films/serials/shows/web series/documentaries, special financial incentives for international filmmakers and South Indian filmmakers. Also told about On this occasion, film stars like actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Pankaj Tripathi, Raghuveer Yadav, Faizal Malik, Vani Tripathi, besides Additional Managing Director Vivek Kshotriya and Deputy Director (Films) Yuvraj Padole were also present.

Highlights of Madhya Pradesh Film Policy

Madhya Pradesh is the only state in the country which has included project permissions in the Public Service Guarantee Act. There is a provision under the Act to allow shooting of a film in 15 working days. To implement the film tourism policy at the district level, an ADM level officer has been appointed as the nodal officer for permission in each district.

The grants given under the film policy include web series, OTT original content, TV serials and documentaries. Single window clearance facility is available for all filming permissions in the state. Under the film policy, there is a provision of additional financial grant for the local artistes of the state as well as exemption for the film crew staying in hotels and resorts of the tourism department.

There is a provision of reserved land for promoting private investment for the development of film industry in the state and setting up film cities, film studios, skill development centers etc. To make Madhya Pradesh a hub of filmmakers.
