Farmers Protest Part-2: The fight for farmers’ MSP is not over yet. Once again the farmers are preparing to march to Delhi. There is to be a great panchayat of farmers at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan from 10 am on Monday, where a decision will be taken regarding the countrywide movement. United Kisan Morcha announced this in the press conference on Sunday. Farmer leaders have warned that if the Delhi Police stops or harasses the farmers coming to the mahapanchayat tomorrow, then a big problem may arise.
Farmer leader Darshanpal told that a memorandum has also been given to the President in this regard. He said that the government should remember the demands of the farmers. Farmer leader Hanan Molla said that the government has violated its promise. Even after the agitation was called off and written, the government did not fulfill its promise. The farmer’s movement was postponed 14 months ago after the assurance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister had promised the farmers that all their demands would be accepted. After his appeal, the farmers had vacated the Delhi border.
Mission MSP will run now
Farmer leaders were constantly appealing to the government to fulfill the promise made in writing. Despite this, the farmers say that the government did not listen to them, after which the movement is the only way. Referring to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, farmer leader Darshanpal said that now Mission Karja Mukti and Mission MSP will continue and the demand of farmers will be the biggest challenge in front of all political parties. It has been said by the United Kisan Morcha that 500 farmers are expected to reach the Delhi Mahapanchayat.
