Ingredients for making Dahi Bhindi

Bhindi – 1/2 kg

Onion – 1

Curd – one and a half cup

Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tsp

Red chili powder – 1 tsp

Turmeric – 1/4 tsp

Coriander Powder – 1 tsp

Garam Masala – 1/2 tsp

Cumin – 1 tsp

Kasoori Fenugreek – 1 tsp

Green cardamom – 2-3

bay leaf – 1

Green coriander – 2 tbsp

Oil – 4-5 tbsp

Salt – as per taste

 

How to make Dahi Bhindi

To make Dahi Bhindi full of taste, first wash and wipe the Bhindi. After that cut it into pieces. Now finely chop the onion and green coriander. After this, put 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan, add chopped okra and fry it for some time. When the color of bhindi starts changing, turn off the gas and take it out in a bowl and keep it aside.

Now add some more oil in the pan and after that add cumin, bay leaf, cardamom and kasoori fenugreek and fry it. Let the spices cook on low flame. After some time, when the aroma starts coming from the spices, then add finely chopped onion, ginger-garlic paste and fry it. Fry them till the onions become soft and turn golden in colour. After this, add all the dry spices including turmeric, coriander powder, red chili and fry it.

 

After frying the onion and all the spices for some time, add curd to it and let it cook for 2-3 minutes. After some time, when the oil starts separating from the spices and curd, then add fried ladyfinger and salt as per taste and mix. After this, cover the pan and let the vegetable cook for another 6-7 minutes. Finally, put green coriander and switch off the gas. Delicious Dahi Bhindi is ready. Serve it with roti, paratha or rice.
