According to government sources, about 40-42 percent oil is produced in mustard and if the market is saturated with cheap imported oils, then this time it is considered possible to consume only about 125 lakh tonnes of its potential yield.

At the same time, a decrease has been registered in the price of groundnut oil and oilseeds. The rate of groundnut oilseed declined by Rs 145 to Rs 6,530-6,590 per quintal. Groundnut oil Gujarat declined by Rs 280 to Rs 15,500 per quintal in the week under review from the previous weekend’s closing price.

Refined prices declined by Rs 45 to Rs 2,445-2,710 per tin. Crude palm oil also declined, falling by Rs 20 to close at Rs 8,330 per quintal. Apart from this, the prices of Palmolein Delhi and Palmolein Kandla were seen trending down by Rs 100 and Rs 60 respectively at Rs 9,900 and Rs 8,940 per quintal respectively. The price of cottonseed oil also saw a reduction of Rs.350.
