Will eliminate elements disturbing peace from Jammu and Kashmir: DGP Dilbag Singh

Srinagar DGP Dilbag Singh on Friday 23 September claimed that not only Pakistan but Hurriyat and Jamaat-e-Islami are equally responsible for terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir. The Director General of Police (DGP) of Jammu and Kashmir said that a lot has been done to wipe out anti-peace elements including terrorists and it will not take much time to expel the rest. The police chief held the Hurriyat and Jamaat Islami responsible for the violence and said that these anti-peace elements were used across the border on behalf of their masters to play bloody games in Kashmir.

“Pakistan was not only responsible for spreading violence and unrest in Kashmir across the border, but Hurriyat and Jamaat-e-Islami (Je) were also at the fore, working at the behest of Pakistani agencies to spread radicalism,” the DGP said.

He said that huge amount of terrorist funding is playing a vital role in its separatist activities and tracking Hurriyat and Jamaat is the main reason which results in incidents of stone pelting in Kashmir.

Congratulating the common people of Jammu and Kashmir, he said, “I would like to congratulate the Kashmiri people who stand firmly with the security forces in bringing down the graph of terrorism in Kashmir. We will eliminate all these elements soon. We have lost precious lives. Which is very unfortunate at the hands of terrorists.”

He further added, “I am happy to see that the youth of the city choose sports and other competitive examinations as their career. Responding to a question about the security situation in Kashmir, he said the security situation in the Valley has improved significantly. Today the common man can take a breath of peace and can breathe in the open air. He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a pedal for peace program in Srinagar here.
