What about PFI?

PFI was established in 2006. At the time of its inception, the Rashtriya Vikas Morcha was merged with. Manitha Niti Pasarai, Karnataka Forum for Dignity and other organizations were merged with the NDF. These organizations are called Muslim fundamentalist organizations. After the demolition of the Babri Masjid in 1992, the National Democratic Front was formed in Kerala in 1993.

However, according to a report by the Kerala government in 2012, PFI is a reformulated version of the banned SIMI.

 

The PFI organization has been in controversies since its inception. This organization is doing good work in Kerala and Karnataka. Apart from this, the organization has a network at some places in Tamil Nadu as well. PFI has a very good network in Kerala. As per the claims of the NIA, PFIs are operating in 23 states. Efforts are being made to expand the organization by campaigning in an aggressive manner. Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) is a political party of PFI.

Some political parties fear that banning PFI will increase sympathy among the Muslim community. So PFI has not been banned yet. However, due to the involvement of PFI in the incidents of violence in the country for the last few years, a thorough investigation is being done by the central investigative agencies.

love jihad and simi connection

The name of PFI was revealed in the famous love jihad case of Kerala. In Kerala, Akhila Ashokan was said to have been forcibly converted after an inter-religious marriage. Similar cases were also reported in Kerala. At that time the NIA took over the investigation from the Kerala Police. At that time he suspected involvement of PFI in some cases. Out of 94 inter-religious marriages, 23 were initiated by PFI. This increased his suspicion even more.

SIMI Connection

SIMI was banned for indulging in terrorist activities. After that there was talk that SIMI continued to work through other organizations. Connection between PFI and SIMI is being claimed continuously. At the time of formation of PFI, some of the merged organizations were said to belong to this SIMI. It was also claimed that some PFI office-bearers were SIMI office-bearers, activists. PFI National President Abdul Rehman was earlier the National Secretary of SIMI. SIMI was banned in 2001.

What is SIMI?

The organization ‘Students Islamic Movement of India’ has been banned for indulging in terrorist activities. In 2018, the ban on this organization expired. However, the ban was again extended for another five years. This organization was established in 1977 in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. SIMI was known as the student organization of Jamaat-e-Islamic Hind. The aim of this organization was to build a society based on Islam. SIMI was banned in 2002 when it was revealed that it was involved in terrorist activities in India.

Political murders, attacks on professors

In Idukki in the year 2010, Prof. TJ Joseph was attacked by PFI workers. Joseph was accused of asking objectionable questions about the Prophet in the question paper.

According to an affidavit filed by the Kerala government in the Kerala High Court in 2012, PFI activists were involved in the killing of activists of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). So, an attempt was made to kill 86 people. It was claimed that all these murders or attempted murders were carried out out of this fundamentalist ideology.

Training Center

In the year 2013, PFI started a training center at Narath in Kannur, Kerala. Kannur police took action against this training centre. The police have seized materials like swords, bombs, bomb making materials, human sized wooden boards etc. Apart from this, inflammatory pamphlets were also confiscated.
