Traumatic accident: Car of 3 friends traveling from Punjab to Manali fell in Beas river, 2 killed
Two people, including a Chandigarh youth, were killed in a road accident on the Chandigarh-Manali National Highway in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh on Thursday night. The accident happened around 6 miles from Pandoh in Mandi. The Creta car bearing Punjab number PB35 AH 3787 went out of control and fell into the Beas while passing. Three youths were in the car at the time of the accident. All three had gone to Manali and while returning, their car met with an accident.
In this accident, 29-year-old Prateek Sabharwal resident of Sector-45 of Chandigarh and 28-year-old Harnoor Singh of Amritsar, Punjab were killed, while 27-year-old Vidhu Sharma, resident of Gurdaspur, Punjab was injured in this accident. All three friends had gone to Manali. According to the information received, a Creta car fell into the Beas river late on Thursday evening, about 6 miles from Pandoh in Mandi and became a victim of the accident. Prateek Sabharwal, Vidhu Sharma and Harnoor Singh were in this car. These three youths were returning after visiting Manali when suddenly this accident happened. The local police reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported and relief and rescue work has been started.
According to the police, the car was badly damaged after the accident. The three youths got trapped inside the car. Prateek and Harnoor died on the spot. The police removed the bodies of the injured youth from the vehicle and sent them to the Zonal Hospital Mandi for post-mortem. The injured youth Vidhu Sharma is undergoing treatment at Mandi Hospital. The police have informed the relatives of the deceased youth about the accident.
Regarding this incident, SP Mandi Shalini Agnihotri said that two youths were killed and one was seriously injured in a road accident in Pandoh of Mandi district. He said that the police reached the spot and started investigation and further action is being taken. The bodies will be handed over to the heirs after the postmortem on Friday.
