Tina Dabi shares the beauty of Jaisalmer’s monsoon after the highest rainfall in 66 years in Rajasthan
Jaisalmer: Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Tina Dabi, who recently took charge as the collector and magistrate of Jaisalmer district, often shares interesting pictures with her fan on Instagram. This time around, she shared beautiful pictures of Jaisalmer that depict the beauty of the ancient city wearing new glow in the monsoons.
Notably, Jaisalmer recorded 166.2 mm of rainfall as against the normal rainfall of 61.8 mm in July. This is the highest in Rajasthan in the last 66 years. Dabi captioned these pictures as “Jaisalmer in monsoon! How beautiful different parts of the district are looking after record breaking rains in the last one month.

In July this year, the entire Rajasthan received 270 mm of rain, which is 67 per cent more than the average (161.4 mm). Earlier in 1956, the state had recorded 308.7 mm of rain in the month of July. Regional Director of Meteorological Department, Rajasthan Radheshyam Sharma said that in the month of July in 2021, 130.8 mm of rain was recorded in the state.
However, the lowest rainfall in the state was recorded in July 2002 at 7.2 mm. In the entire monsoon season that year, the state had recorded only 175.6 mm of rain, the lowest rainfall ever recorded.
Dabi was posted in Jaipur before joining as Collector and Magistrate of Jaisalmer. A few days back, she met Rajasthani singer Mame Khan and uploaded a picture with him in her Instagram stories, wrote Tina Dabi, “With the pride of Jaisalmer”. Earlier this year, she married fellow IAS officer Dr Pradeep Gawande, who was transferred to Udaipur as the Managing Director of Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Limited.
