Terror funding: NIA team reached Bhopal with PFI suspects, presented in court

Bhopal, 23 September (H.S.). The National Investigation Agency (NIA) team reached Bhopal on Friday morning with the suspects of Popular Front of India (PFI) arrested from Indore and Ujjain. His medical examination was done at Jaypee Hospital here. Thereafter, he was produced in the special NIA court. At present, the hearing is going on in the court.

The NIA team conducted raids on PFI locations in Indore and Ujjain districts of Madhya Pradesh on the intervening night of Wednesday-Thursday. This action was taken on the allegation of securing terror funding and organizing training camps. NIA arrested four functionaries, including PFI state president Abdul Karim Bakery, by involving officers of ATS and Intelligence for the raid. The NIA team came to the capital Bhopal on Friday morning with these four accused, where they were first treated at Jaypee Hospital. The medical took place between 09 am to 10 am.

After this, the NIA team reached the district court at around 11.15 am with the four accused. This he was presented in the special court of NIA in the court of Judge Raghuveer Prasad Patel. Sources say that the hearing is getting delayed due to power outage in the courtroom. At present, the NIA will seek police remand for interrogation of the four accused.
