Survey will start in Gyanvapi Masjid from tomorrow

Survey work of Gyanvapi Masjid in Varanasi will start from tomorrow i.e. Saturday. After the meeting with the Muslim party, Varanasi District Magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma said that from tomorrow, the Survey Commissioner will handle the Advocate Commissioner.

Earlier, the matter of survey of Gyanvapi Masjid had reached the Supreme Court. The Anjuman-e-Intejamia Masjid Committee of Varanasi had filed an application to stop the survey. However, the top court refused an immediate stay and Chief Justice of India (CJI) NV Ramana said, “I have not even seen the petition. I will look into the matter.”

“We need an urgent hearing as the survey has been ordered,” said Huzaifa Ahmadi, counsel for the management committee of Anjuman-e-Intejamiya Masjid. In the Gyanvapi mosque survey case, a bench headed by Chief Justice NV Ramana had sought a stay of the Varanasi trial court’s decision.

Senior advocate Huzaifa Ahmadi said that proceedings will start from today on the decision of the lower court, so the matter should be heard today, at least issue an order to maintain status quo in the matter. After this CJI NV Ramana said that we have not seen the paper yet, no order can be issued without seeing the paper.

Supreme Court refused to grant stay

The Supreme Court refused to order the status quo for the time being. However, the Supreme Court has agreed to hear the matter soon. The order of April 21 of the Allahabad High Court has been challenged in the petition filed by the Anjuman-e-Intejamiya Masjid Management Committee.
