There is a Vav in the village of Devaliya (Chakkar Garh) near Amreli. During excavations in the village of Devaliya in 2006, a Shivling was found in an ancient vav, which was revered for being found in a garbage dump. After the decision was taken in the Gram Sabha to install the same Shivling, the excavation started at the place where the Shivling was found.

Years ago in Vav a Shiva temple burial was found. The district administration was informed that there are carvings and stairs beside the three floors. Even the 100 year old children of the village were not aware that the ancestors also said that they were unaware of it. When a huge three-storey mythological vav was found. The villagers were astonished to see the artistic Vav and in the Vav excavation work by the Gram Panchayat, one storey above the three storeyed Vav has been destroyed while two storeys are still found alive. To a depth of 48 feet from the ground, a width of 10 feet and a height of 13 feet, one floor is a discreet construction with carvings and ancient sculptures. A Shiva temple has been built 28 feet below.

In order to make Amreli district such a huge and mythical ancient cave, which is not visible anywhere as a historical place for the people, it will be renovated by the Panchayat with public cooperation. Tantra has visited Puranik Vav and sent pictures of it to the government and the people of Devaliya want the Archaeological Department to also visit that place.
