Raipur: ‘Narva Mission’ formed in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, 22 June (H.S.). On the instructions of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, a seven-member ‘Narva Mission’ has been constituted in Chhattisgarh under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Subrata Sahu, Forest and Climate Change Department.

Secretary, Panchayat and Rural Development Department, R. Prasanna, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief of Forest Force Rakesh Chaturvedi, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief Executive Officer, Campa V. Srinivas Rao, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Joint Forest Management) Arun Kumar Pandey, Commissioner of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Mission Mohammad Abdul Kaiser Haque, Narwa-Garwa-Ghurwa-Bari and Nodal Officer of Chhattisgarh Godhan Nyay Yojana Dr. Tamboli Ayyaz Fakir Brother and Chief Engineer of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Mission Narayan Nimje will be members of Narva Mission.

It is noteworthy that ‘Narva Program’ is mainly being run by Panchayat and Rural Development Department and Forest and Climate Change Department in the state. In the ‘Narva Programme’, with the help of small underground dike-like structures, the target has been set to recharge the underground water by making the drains a continuous flowing drain.

This program will increase the irrigated area in Chhattisgarh and water will be available for agriculture in most of the places. The problem of water scarcity for Nistar will also be overcome to a great extent. Along with this, there will be an increase in biodiversity. The Additional Chief Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development Department will monitor and review the ‘Narva Program’ conducted by the Panchayat and Rural Development Department through its Head of Department’s office and review and program the works of Narva development being done by the Forest and Climate Change Department. The implementation will be done as before by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and the Chief of Forest Force.
