Presidential election 2022: The political atmosphere has heated up regarding the presidential election. A meeting of the BJP Parliamentary Board is being held in this regard today. Several senior party leaders including PM Modi, BJP National President JP Nadda, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari and Shivraj Singh Chouhan attended the meeting.

The name of the BJP Presidential candidate is being discussed in this high level meeting. It is believed that BJP can announce the name of its presidential candidate after the parliamentary session.

Union Ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh and party president JP Nadda called on Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu ahead of the Parliamentary Board meeting. After the meeting, there is speculation whether the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is considering fielding him (Naidu) for the post of President.

Nadda held a meeting on Sunday

 

BJP President JP Nadda held an important meeting on Sunday to consider the Presidential election. In which all the members of the management team were present. BJP President JP Nadda and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh were tasked to hold talks with all political parties on the party’s presidential candidate. The two leaders spoke to several senior leaders, including NCP president Sharad Pawar, TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee, JD(U) president Nitish Kumar, BJD president Naveen Patnaik and National Conference president Farooq Abdullah, to reach an agreement on the name of the presidential candidate.

Opposition has made Yashwant Sinha its candidate

On the other hand, NCP President Sharad Pawar has called a meeting of leaders of 19 opposition parties today. In the meeting, leaders of all opposition parties unanimously supported Yashwant Sinha’s name for the post of president. Yashwant Sinha will now file his nomination for the post of President on June 27. Let us tell you that the election of the new President is to be held on 18 July.
