The accident happened on Puranpur Highway of Gajraula police station when a speeding pickup truck collided with a tree. It is being told that the accident happened due to the driver falling asleep. On receiving information about the accident, the police took the bodies in their possession and sent them for postmortem, while the injured were sent to the nearest hospital for treatment. As soon as the information about the road accident was received, the DM reached the district hospital along with the SP and other administrative staff.

The incident took place in Malamud of Gajraula police station area, where a pickup carrying 17 pilgrims returning from Haridwar after taking a bath collided with a tree. Eight people died on the spot in the accident. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and took all the injured to the district hospital for treatment. Two other people also died during treatment.

At the same time, the condition of seven people remains critical. After first aid from the district hospital, 2 people have been referred to the Higher Center for treatment.
