Orange alert in Northwest India, these states are in the grip of heat

New Delhi: Issuing a severe heat warning, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued an orange alert for northwest India, including a red alert for Rajasthan. A senior scientist said, “We have issued a severe heat wave alert for Rajasthan and a yellow alert for tomorrow. Similarly, we have issued an orange alert for Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh and Delhi. IMD Naresh Kumar. He further said, “Yesterday a temperature of 48.8 degree Celsius was recorded from some parts of East Uttar Pradesh and Delhi also crossed 47 degree Celsius. If we talk about Rajasthan, it has also crossed 48 degrees.

He said, “In general, most parts of North West India including Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh have experienced severe heatwave conditions yesterday. Heat wave conditions have been experienced in Vidarbha as well.”

With regard to the weather, he predicted that the incoming Western Disturbance is likely to affect Northwest India.

 

“Clouds are visible in parts of Jammu and Kashmir from today itself. Therefore, we can expect a significant decrease in temperature after 24 hours, which will eventually ease into ‘Severe Heat Wave’ conditions over North West India, especially Punjab.” Haryana and Rajasthan.”

Weather conditions in the said state from Monday improvement is likely.

“In Madhya Pradesh, the heatwave will continue for the next 2-3 days, but with a decrease in intensity. In Uttar Pradesh also, we are expecting severe heatwave today and tomorrow (Monday) and waiting for that (for weather development). Because of western disturbances,” he said.
