Congress leader Rahul Gandhi reappeared at the ED office at 11 am on Tuesday, the fifth day of questioning in the National Herald money laundering case. The interrogation continued till 10 pm on Tuesday night. According to reports, he could not be called for questioning again this week. He left the ED office at midnight on Monday after spending nearly 12 hours with the probe team.

ED sources had earlier said that Rahul was involved in an alleged illegal transaction of Rs 1 crore in Young Indian with Kolkata-based hawala operators and ‘entering the residence’. were denied any information about agency It is investigating allegations of money laundering against young Indian shareholders, including Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

The biggest part of Young India belongs to the Gandhi family. He acquired 100 per cent stake in Associated Journals Limited (AJL) in 2011. AJL was then a Congress-controlled company with estimated assets of over Rs 800 crore.

Let us inform that on Tuesday, as usual, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra came to the ED office with her brother and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and left them and returned with her convoy of security forces. Meanwhile, several party leaders who were opposing the questioning were also detained by the police.

 

Earlier, ED has questioned Rahul Gandhi four times. The questioning took place on June 13, 14, 15 and 20. Sources said the ED is questioning Rahul Gandhi about the circumstances under which AJL was acquired by Young India.

Let us inform that the ED has questioned several leaders of the party including Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge and Pawan Bansal in this regard. The ED has also summoned Congress President Sonia Gandhi on June 23 in the case. He was admitted to the hospital on June 12 due to corona infection. He has recently been discharged from the hospital. Doctors have advised him to take rest for the time being.
